If at some point you get an error message such as “Windows could not start the Avast Antivirus service on Local Computer.
Make sure Startup Type is set to Automatic. If the status service is already stopped, leave it as is. 
If it is, click Stop button to stop service from running.
Under Service Status, check if the service is running. Right click on Avast Antivirus service and then click Properties from the drop down menu. Scroll down and locate Avast Antivirus service. At RUN dialog box, type “services.msc” and press Enter or click OK to open Services Tool Window. Press Windows key + R on your keyboard to open RUN dialog box. To fix this, try restarting Avast Antivirus service. If there is an issue with Avast Antivirus service and it not running properly it can be the culprit for Avast not opening on your computer. Solution 2: Restart Avast Antivirus Service 
Once computer completely reboots, check if Avast Not Opening On Windows 10 issue still occurs.
